"Berry Sweet"

"Berry Sweet"

6" X 9" Pastel

I just finished the commission piece that I have been working on for awhile. This is titled “Berry Sweet”… I can never get enough of these sweet little chickadees. In this painting, I loved the challenge of giving all of the birds their own identity. Each one has a different head tilt which makes them appear to have individual personalities. Aren’t they charming?!?

Maine and Massachusetts have chosen this beautiful bird as their state bird. The Black-Capped Chickadee is sometimes known to eat out of a human's hand. Perhaps they are a little too humanized because they love to eat caterpillars, spiders, beetles, aphids and DOUGHNUTS!!
