"Palomino Gypsy"

SOLD

"Palomino Gypsy"
Small Painting Series
4" X 5" original

I'm going to be painting a series of Gypsy Vanner Horses this year and here is the first one! This is the first time I have painted a palomino and it was a lot of fun. I especially liked the challenge of applying the multiple layers to achieve the hair and the softness in the eyes.

Sacramento Trip

Hello!! Well we returned from our trip down to Sacramento for the judging of the California Upland Game Stamp contest. Though I didn't take top honors I did get into the ribbons and for my first time entering I'm happy. I did learn a lot with this experience and realize now that I should have done what I normally do, make it up close and all subject, lesson learned! I had such a wonderful support team..... my friends and family cheering me on, doesn't get any better than that. I can't thank you enough for being there with me braving the BIG storm just to hold my hand. THANK YOU!!!

"Focal Point"

SOLD
(includes custom framing)

"Focal Point"
Small Painting Series
4" x 5" original

This is the next painting in my wolf series. There were two things that I wanted to accomplish in this painting... I wanted to capture the geometric patterns in the wolf's wet fur and I wanted to contrast that with the soft colors of the intense eye.

"Bee On Blueberry Blossom"

"Bee On Blueberry Blossom"
Small Painting Series

I absolutely loved painting these cute little Blueberry Blossoms. What is it about painting pink and green that is so appealing? To think that these beautiful blossoms end up being our coveted Blueberry. All done with the help of a Bee!

This is one of the four bee paintings that will be presented at different bee conventions across the United States. It is amazing how many crops depend on the honeybee for their success!

"Bee on Clover"

SOLD

This is the third painting out of four in my bee series. These four paintings will be presented at different bee conventions across the United States. I like to use vivid contrasts to emphasize the subject as the main focal point in the painting. By using black and olive green, I am able to achieve a dark, but warm, background ensuring that the subject "pops" to the eye.
